Solidarity from around the world, feel free to download and share.

The Communist Party has an unrivalled record of internationalism supporting from its inception, freedom for India and Ireland, and an end to imperialist occupation of Hong Kong and its integration as part of People’s China, and freedom for the countries of Africa and in the Caribbean.

Its role is particularly noted in the 1930s. when it spoke out against Mussolini’s savage war against Abyssinia and organised

a contingent of volunteers to fight against Franco and fascist incursion in Spain. The party led mass movements against the policies of ‘non-intervention’ in Spain and ‘appeasement of Fascism’, both supported by National Governments and the Labour Party. It opposed the Munich sell-out.  Many hundreds of party members gave their lives fighting for democracy and the independence of Spain.

The party over the years has led many campaigns of solidarity, with the people of Chile and against apartheid, where members went into the country in a clandestine role to support African workers.

Dear comrades, I, Vera Dehle-Thälmann granddaughter of Ernst Thälmann, would like to congratulate you on your 100th anniversary of the founding of your party. I wish you, all of us, a lot of creative energy for the struggle of the unity of the working class, for the unity in action of all anti-fascist forces. We cannot rely on parliaments and others to solve the problems for us. We must remain active ourselves and stay in dialogue with all people who fight against all kinds of racism, anti-Semitism and sexism.

For a world of peace and freedom, international understanding and international solidarity against war and destruction.

Ernst Thälmann stood and stands as a symbol of the anti-fascist struggle in Germany and around the world. His struggle for the unity of action of all anti-fascists is a legacy for all anti-fascist resistance, for the united front of all political parties against the nationalists. He was a fervent internationalist. In this anti-fascist spirit, the Communist Party of Great Britain actively participated in the defense against fascist danger nationally and internationally in the 1930’s. There were many letters of protest for the release of Ernst Thälmann. Due to the strong pressure from around the world and his endurance, the fascists did not dare to bring him to trial because he would have exposed their crimes. As we unfortunately know and experience every day, fascism in Europe has become almost socially acceptable again. Therefore, the legacy for the anti-fascist struggle is still valid today, because only together can we be strong. Nationalism is and never was a solution but the cause of exclusion and persecution.

I quote Ernst Thälmann “It is important to understand that you cannot win if you have not learned to understand the past. “ In this spirit let us continue this anti-fascist struggle to win one day.  No more wars! No more fascism!

Communist Party of Australia

Dear comrade,
On behalf of the Communist Party of Australia, please receive warm fraternal greetings on the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of Britain. It is an occasion for the celebration of past struggles, achievements, and of comrades who have passed on, as well as a time for deep reflection.

Your party’s 100th year celebrations fall in a year of unprecedented times. The pandemic has shaken and exposed the failings of the capitalist system. It has further aggravated the economic and social crises that the people were already facing.

These are challenging times indeed, but our comrades everywhere, including those in the CPB have known and faced worse adversaries in the past. Our work as communists not only continues but is picking up momentum. We are sure these challenges are proving to be a thought-provoking backdrop to your centenary celebrations.

The CPB has a rich past and much to celebrate and to be proud of on the 1st of August, 2020. We look forward to a celebration of your party’s history, and also of its potential for a bright, socialist future.

This year also marks the 100th year of the CPA. Our parties have always maintained good fraternal relations, and we wish to further strengthen them.

Long live the Communist Party of Britain!
Long live working-class internationalism!

Progressive Tribune (Al Taqadomi)– Bahrain

Hello comrades
First of all, I extend greetings of the comrades from the Central Committee of the Progressive Tribune – Bahrain and all the members and supporters, hoping that your celebration of the centenary will meet success and achieve the desired goals.

The slogan of commemoration “peace and socialism” is undoubtedly the obsession that was, remains and will remain inherent to all communist parties as long as humanity is under the yoke of imperial domination and the aspirations of capitalist companies that are controlling all aspects of our lives and dragging the peoples of the world into struggle to achieve its material gains.

Your ever ready party, who has been for decades emitting rays in the skies of Europe is a hope for a life that entrenches human principles and values as a priority in drawing general policies.

Your slogan today, after the spread out of COVID-19 Pandemic, has become a pressing existential necessity especially after the Pandemic has revealed the extent of failure in the Capitalism model to protect humanity from the dangers, especially
among the middle and industrious classes.

We stand by your hands and join our voices with you, calling on all forces of progress in the world to adopt this slogan.

Long live the struggle of your vanguard party.
Yes, in order to achieve peace for all the peoples of the world.

COMMUNIST PARTY OF CANADA

PARTI COMMUNISTE DU CANADA

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Canada sends you warm fraternal greetings and congratulations on the auspicious occasion marking the centenary of the birth of the Communist Party of Britain.

Like our Party, the Communist Party of  Britain was born out from the wildfire of revolutionary organization inspired by Lenin and the Great October Socialist Revolution.  Around the world Communist Parties were formed with the aim of winning working class political power and defeating barbaric capitalism, colonialism, exploitation, oppression, and war in the 20th century.

Throughout its history, the CPB, and its predecessor the CPGB, has consistently fought for the interests of the working class and working people, in the long struggle for peace, democracy and fundamental change leading to socialism.   It has produced outstanding theoreticians such as R. Palme Dutt and writers such as Christopher Caudwell who have made significant contributions to the international Communist movement.  The CPB has been true to the principles of Marxism Leninism and proletarian internationalism, and has consistently fought for the unity of the international Communist and Workers’ movement, and for the unity of the working people in the UK, struggling for socialism in complicated conditions.

Dear Comrades, we salute you on your 100th anniversary, and wish you every success in your on-going struggles for peace, climate justice, democracy, equality, and socialism.  The future belongs to the working class!

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the
Communist Party of Britain 1 August 2020

Dear comrades of the Communist Party of Britain,
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Finland I would like to extend to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Britain and the Leadership of the Communist Party of Britain my best regards and wishes by congratulating the Communist Party of Britain in its 100 years celebration.

The Communist Party of Finland finds it for the international communist movement highly important that CP of Britain has campaigned a monumental time – a centry, as a Communist
Party for working class unity for socialism, for the international solidarity of working people and against imperialism and war.

We are happy to see that our bilateral relations are doing well and strengthening. Today’s world really needs stronger networking and better relations among peoples, nations and
political parties.

The Communist Party of Britain is great inspiration for Finnish communists. The Communist Party of Finland expresses its reediness and willingness to enhance the cooperation
between the Communist Party of Britain and the Communist Party of Finland.

For us, Finnish Communist political questions like class-oriented feminism and minorities rights, division of work and labour, shorter working day, increase of basic security, antimilitarist struggle for world without wars and struggle for culture for all, are at the top priority in the everyday party work.

We also think that there is no class struggle without international collaboration and unity of the comrades abroad. Therefor we highly welcome all initiatives for future collaboration in between our two parties.

I wish you good health, happiness and success. May our traditional relationship be strengthened and further developed.

Dear Comrades,
this year, the British Communists can look back on a 100-year history. Your party was founded a few years after the successful socialist October Revolution and since then has consistently fought for the British road to socialism. Your party was and is an active part of the trade union and youth movement, is involved in social and political struggles.

The relations between the British and German communists were and are characterized by friendship and cooperation. We are united in our common struggle for the interests of the working class, against imperialism, for peace and socialism. Our common activities are continuously backed by your “Pedal for Progress” movement.

The German Communist Party congratulates you on the 100th anniversary of the foundation of your party and greets all participants of the congress on this occasion. We wish you success in the struggle for socialism in Britain.

We look forward to further fruitful cooperation between our parties and hope to be able to welcome comrades from the Communist Party of Britain to our press festival next year.

Communist Party of Greece

The KKE salutes the 100-year action of the communists in Britain.

The Communist Party of Britain over the years has made a valuable contribution with great sacrifices to the organization of the struggle of the British working class for its rights against the bourgeoisie, the imperialist unions and their plans.

The important experience of your Party as well as the experience of the CPs in general, is a great source of important elements in order to substantively study the complex developments, draw useful conclusions, adapt the communists’ strategy to the great demands of the class struggle, and jointly act against capitalist barbarity.

Dear comrades,

You are well aware that peoples are facing great challenges due to a new capitalist crisis, which has been accelerated by the pandemic. Significant realignments in the imperialist pyramid are taking place, together with the questioning of US supremacy by China and fragile imperialist alliances, as the Brexit experience has shown. The bourgeois classes in all circumstances defend their power, make their moves based on their own interests and the increase of their profitability.

Competitions between monopolies, capitalist states and their imperialist alliances, such as NATO and the EU, over the control of markets, wealth-producing resources, and energy pipelines, are the basis of imperialist wars such as those in Syria and Libya that are still raging causing massacres and persecutions, forcing the people to become refugees.

The capitalist crisis and the pandemic brought to the fore the impasses and historical limits of the capitalist system. The inadequacy of public health systems has revealed not only the parasitic and overall harmful nature of the private sector but also the irrevocable fact that the bourgeois state in capitalism cannot serve the needs of the people.

The painful situation experienced by the working class and the popular strata in each country reveals how dangerous the myths for the “humanization of capitalism” are and necessitates the intensification of the ideological-political struggle against the bourgeois forces, the liberal and the social-democratic parties that use all means to take over people’s conscience.

The communists have the power and can in practice confront the attempt to entrap the popular forces, to reveal that no form of bourgeois management with extended or not state intervention can prevent the manifestation of the capitalist crisis. The bourgeois state and its governments put the burdens of the capitalist crisis on the working class and the peoples, strengthening the exploitation both in conditions of crisis and in conditions of capitalist economic growth.

The KKE plays a leading role in Greece in the daily struggle for the problems of the workers so that the people do not pay for the crisis of the capitalists, for the protection of the health of the people. It struggles against imperialist wars and plans. It focuses on building strong ties with the working class and constructing the social alliance of the working class, the poor farmers and the self-employed in the cities, against monopolies and capitalism.

The experience in our country shows the necessity of rejecting any mixture of bourgeois management and any liberal or social-democratic version of it, as proven by the government of SYRIZA and ND, against the popular interests.

The rotting capitalism that bears crises, wars, poverty and refugees, the offensive of the capital, the poison of nationalism and anti-communism, as well as the erosive work of opportunism that brings bourgeois ideology and politics into the labour movement, stress the need for strong and revolutionary Marxist-Leninist parties.

Communist Parties with strong organizations in factories, workplaces, sectors of the industry and popular neighbourhoods, leading in the struggle of the working class in every country, for the overthrow of capitalist exploitation, for socialism. The correlation of forces is neither eternal nor static.

With these thoughts, we would like to convey to you the wishes of the Greek communists for the 100 years of the communist movement in Britain.

Tudeh Party of Iran

Message of Greetings of the Tudeh Party of Iran on the occasion of the Centenary of the Communist Party in Britain, 1st August 2020

The Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran sends its fraternal militant greetings to the leadership and all members of the Communist Party of Britain on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the party’s foundation.

The Tudeh Party of Iran is well aware of the long history of the working-class movement in Britain, the birthplace of capitalism and the scene of sustained struggle for revolutionary change.  The Communist Party has its roots in these important struggles and in turn has contributed to the development of the tactics and strategy of the revolutionary movement in the capitalist countries through its experience of dealing with the oldest imperialist ruling class.

The Tudeh Party of Iran, like all communist parties, has its roots in the revolutionary socialist movement at the beginning of the 20th Century and the worldwide impact of the 1917 Great October Revolution in Russia.  We in the Tudeh Party of Iran also celebrated the centenary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Iran in June 1920. Since that time much has changed, though there remains a constant and fundamental feature in our movement and that is of the international solidarity between communists. – as has been so between the Tudeh Party of Iran and British Communists.  Our fraternal relations and friendship have been unshakable and remain so.

In the early part of the 20th Century, communists in Britain were at the forefront in their domestic struggle against the impoverishment inflicted on the working class by the crisis of capitalism.   Moreover, the Communist Party in Britain and its members and supporters were in the vanguard in opposing the rise of fascism and the threat of war and extending these struggles to the fight against imperialism and colonial oppression after the Second World War.

The struggle for independence and the right to self-determination of nations has been the cornerstone of the Communist Party’s international work.  The creative and multifaceted solidarity actions undertaken by the British Communists during the 1950s and 60s played an important role in the struggle of peoples against the British empire and in addressing the legacies of cruel colonial rule.  The role played by the Communist Party in Britain in building solidarity with the struggle of the Iranian people during the movement for nationalisation of the oil industry is an important milestone in the relations between our parties.

Furthermore, the consistent work of the Communist Party of Britain to strengthen its relations with the communist parties internationally since 1990s is an important chapter in the life and struggle of your party.  The same is true in the pioneering and steadfast work of the Party and its cadres in the campaign for Britain to leave the diktat of the European Union and regain its right to independently plan the future direction of social and economic developments in the country.

Historically and in today’s class struggle, these are just some of the many ties which bind our two parties.  There are many others and the Tudeh Party of Iran is proud to support the Communist Party of Britain and to build our solidarity work in the struggle for world peace, for human and democratic rights, and social justice in Iran and the countries of Middle East,  and share our experience.

For our struggle against the theocratic dictatorship and in support of workers’ struggles and for human rights in Iran, the support of members and supporters of the Communist Party of Britain, and its allies in the trade union and labour movement, is invaluable.  We are confident that through our close and fraternal international links we will be able to build upon the solidarity work in Britain so important for the long and arduous struggle being waged by the people of Iran.

We salute you warmly on your anniversary.

Long live socialism

Long live the friendship between the Tudeh Party of Iran and Communist Party of Britain

Long Live working-class internationalism

Iraqi Communist Party

Dear Comrades,

We convey the warmest greetings of Iraqi Communists on the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Britain.

On this special occasion in the life of your fraternal party, we salute the history of struggle and sacrifice of British Communists and their dedication to uphold the lofty values of communism and fight relentlessly for a socialist future. Throughout these 100 years, confronting an enormous political and ideological challenge of facing up to the one of the world’s oldest capitalist and imperialist powers, they have held high the red banner of socialism, communism and Marxism. This history is today an inspiring example for British Communists and their allies in the labour movement and society to intensify their struggle to defend the rights of the British working class and people and achieve a popular left alternative. It is also an inspiration to Britain’s young generation as they look for an alternative to a bankrupt capitalist system that stands condemned for its systemic failures in the face of the coronavirus pandemic and its devastating economic and social consequences that will impact their lives for years to come. Today, more than ever before, the role of the Communist party and progressive forces, in Britain and worldwide, is indispensable for providing inspiration and a guide for action to achieve change. It is vital for building a better future, a society free of exploitation, all forms of oppression, racism, fascism, wars, poverty and disease; ensuring freedom, democratic rights and social justice; laying the foundations for socialism.

Dear Comrades,

On this centenary celebration, Iraqi Communists join you in remembering with pride the role of Britain’s Communist Party in providing internationalist support and expressing solidarity with the fighters against fascism and war, and in building the world peace movement. An outstanding example was the participation of British communists in the International Brigades and their courageous fight against Franco’s fascists. Another example was its contribution to the fight against the apartheid regime in South Africa.

Britain’s Communist Party also supported national liberation movements in the fight against British colonialism, for freedom and national independence. This had special importance for the Iraqi people in their bitter fight to win true independence after Iraq fell under British occupation in 1917. This fight continued until the 14th July 1958 Revolution which overthrew the reactionary monarchy that was a British puppet.

Iraqi Communists recall with pride the relationship that developed with Britain’s Communist Party during the 1940s. It actively campaigned to save the life of Comrade Fahd (Yousuf Salman), the leader and founder of the Iraqi Communist Party, when he was sentenced to death after his arrest in 1947. Under the pressure of this international campaign, the sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. But following the party’s role in the popular uprising against the Portsmouth Treaty in 1948, he was re-tried along with two members of the party Politburo, sentenced to death and executed in February 1949.

Following the CIA-backed bloody fascist coup in Iraq on 8th February 1963, in which thousands of Communists and supporters were physically liquidated, British Communists again supported an international solidarity campaign to expose and stop the bloodbath.

The British Communist Party also provided vital support for the solidarity campaign that was launched in Britain in 1979 after the escalation of bloody repression by Saddam’s fascist Baath party against the Communists and democrats. This internationalist support for the Iraqi people continued over more than two decades, during which our people suffered the catastrophes of the Iran-Iraq war and economic sanctions after Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait. Iraqi Communists participated in the anti-war demonstrations, alongside British Communists, on the eve of the US war and occupation of Iraq in 2003, under the slogan “No to War .. No to Dictatorship”. The ties of friendship and solidarity between our two parties continued during the years that followed, despite the difficult struggle waged by our party and democratic forces under complex conditions against the occupation, political sectarianism, corruption and terrorism, for freedom and national sovereignty, and to build a civil democratic state based on social justice.

Dear Comrades,

On the Centenary of the birth of your party, we seize this occasion to express once again our appreciation for your internationalist solidarity with the Iraqi people, democrats and Communists.

We warmly salute all the members and supporters of Communist Party of Britain, and look forward to strengthening and developing the historical relations and internationalist ties between our two parties, in the joint struggle for freedom, peace, democracy, social progress, and socialism.

With warmest comradely greetings,

Al Comité Central del Partido Comunista Británico:

Queridos camaradas,

New Communist Party of Aotearoa

Dear comrades,

Please accept my greetings and congratulations on behalf of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Aotearoa for the centenary celebrations of the Communist Party of Britain.

The one-hundred years of the CPB have seen some incredible achievements and successes, from the “Hands off Russia” campaign led by Harry Pollitt to Mark Ashton and the LGBT solidarity campaign with the mineworkers.

Recent years have seen a very visible resurgence in the CPB, particularly with young people and the Young Communist League of Britain. The recent re-launch of the Challenge magazine highlights this development on an organisational level.

Much was talked about in the international media of the “Corbyn phenomenon” and the, now largely reversed, successes of left social democracy within your Labour Party.  It seems more correct, however, to talk of not just Corbyn but a new wind of socialism and class struggle in Britain. The incredible growth of the CPB and mass organisations such as left trade unions and ACORN put your Party in a very strong position for its second hundred years.

The founding of the NCPA last year, with a membership composed of not only Communists from earlier parties such as the Socialist Unity Party or CPNZ but a significant number of younger Communists is part of this same socialist resurgence on an international level.

A lot of historical and cultural ties connect working people of Aotearoa New Zealand and Britain. Kiwi Communists fought and died in defence of the Spanish Republic alongside CPGB comrades in the British Battalion and International Brigades.

On this significant occasion we pledge our willingness to deepen internationalist ties between our two Communist Parties. We hope you are able to celebrate the centenary of the Communist Party of New Zealand with us next year in whatever form international conditions permit.

Congratulations on this incredible milestone for all British Communists! We wish you all the best on the British Road to Socialism.

Long live the Communist Party of Britain!

Long live Marxism-Leninism!

Long live proletarian internationalism!

Communist Party of the Philippines

Dear comrade :

Through you, the Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP-1930, the Philippine Communist Party) sends warmest comradely greetings on the occasion of the centennial of the founding of the Communist Party of Britain (CPB) on August 1st, 2020.

To us and many others in the international movement of communist and workers’ parties, the 100 years of the CPB (formerly the CPGB) is a history of staunch struggles in defense of proletarian internationalism — of support for the communist movements and national liberation struggles in colonies of the British and other European empires, of strong participation in the International Brigades which defended Republican Spain against fascist forces, of campaigns for the early opening of  the Second Front during the Second World War, of support for the post-war anti-colonial struggles, of strong solidarity with the struggles of the African peoples against apartheid and racism, of opposition to maoism and the polpotist genocide, of campaigns against the US-Tory attacks against countries in the Middle East and the Gulf, and of solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people for the realization of all their rights in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.

The PKP-1930 particularly thanks the CPB (formerly the CPGB) for the assistance extended to our Comrades William Pomeroy and Celia Mariano-Pomeroy after their release from prison on rebellion charges in the 1960s. Banned from staying together in the Philippines and the USA, the revolutionary couple were finally reunited and found a home in London through the help of the CPB (CPGB).

The PKP-1930 salutes the CPB’s continuing activities for working class unity for peace and socialism, and for the international solidarity of working peoples against imperialism and war. The PKP-1930 wishes more strength to the CPB as it celebrates its centennial, and as it continues the struggle for the realization of the British road to socialism.

With communist greetings,

Communist Party of Poland

Dear comrades,
The Communist Party of Poland would like to convey its warmest, comradely greetings on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Britain (CPB).

Rich and long history of the CPB is the source of inspiration. Its activities both in the past and contemporary ones in defence of the proletariat and struggle against capitalist oppression, remain the guideline for the international communist movement.

We salute the great tradition of the CPB and wish our British Comrades further development of their party and struggle.

Long live the international solidarity!

CC of the Communist Party of Poland

Partido Comunista Português

Portuguese Communist Party

Dear Comrades,
The Portuguese Communist Party conveys its warmest greetings to the Communist Party of Britain and, through you, to all Communists and working people of your country.

One hundred years ago, the Communist Party of Great Britain was created by the British working class, under the world-wide impact of the Great October Socialist Revolution in Russia. The founding of the CPGB in the very heart of a major imperialist power, which was still presiding over the largest colonial Empire on the planet, was a direct challenge, in your country, to the class rule based on the alliance between finance capital and the remnants of the landed aristocracy.

The consistent and courageous struggle of the British Communists for British workers’ labour, political and economic rights; in standing up for the national and social rights of the peoples living under the yoke of British colonialism; in the struggle against fascism and for world peace; and in solidarity with the pioneering attempts to create new socialist societies, freed from the exploitation of human beings by other human beings – as well as the contribution of many British Communist intellectuals to the advance of human society – are a source of inspiration for working people around the world.

Throughout the past century, British Communists have had to endure police provocations, surveillance and persecution, for having remained faithful to their ideals. We greet the comrades from the Communist Party of Britain, who courageously kept up the banner of Communist ideals and of the anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist struggle during the very difficult moments of the destruction of the Soviet Union and of the counter-revolutions in Eastern Europe.

The course of world events during these past thirty years is proof of the historic role and importance of the Soviet Union and the socialist countries in Europe which, for all their shortcomings, were a factor of progress, peace, solidarity and advancement for working people, and of national and social liberation throughout the planet. Their demise has ushered in times of unbridled reaction, of permanent wars of imperialist aggression, of major onslaughts against working peoples’ rights and living standards, of real threats to world peace.

The dramatic situation in the world today is inseparably linked to the systemic crisis of capitalism and its intrinsic contradictions. The tendency for the rate of profit to fall leads to ever more parasitic, speculative and criminal forms of profit-making, which are increasingly divorced from productive economic processes.

Unbridled levels of exploitation have led to an obscene concentration of wealth in the hands of a tiny minority, whilst working people are increasingly confronted with growing poverty and insecurity, even within the main imperialist powers, a reality which the 2008 crisis and the current Covid-19 pandemic have made glaringly obvious and qualitatively worse. The privatization and commodification of all aspects of social activity is destroying civilizational achievements won with past struggles, such as healthcare, social security and education for all.

It is also destroying the relation between human society and our planet. The intrinsically aggressive essence of imperialism has been blatantly on display in the criminal wars and attacks against countries such as Yugoslavia, Syria, Libya, Iraq and others.

Throughout the past three decades, the ruling classes of the USA and of the imperialist powers in the European Union have been, in the main, united in this world-wide offensive to restore their unchallenged hegemony over the working class and the peoples of the world. The role of the EU institutions spear-heading the offensive to destroy the rights and living standards of the workers in EU-member countries and lending active support to the imperialist wars of aggression cannot be forgotten and justifies your courageous stance to free the British workers and people from the shackles of the EU. The sharpening crisis of the capitalist system, and the resistance of the peoples and countries which have been their victims, have made the ever present inter-imperialist contradictions explode and come out into the open with an intensity that has not been seen since the end of World War II.

We are currently witnessing an extremely dangerous escalation of war-mongering rhetoric and behaviour by the imperialist powers against countries such as China, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, the DPR Korea and others, such as Russia and Iran, who refuse to submit to the hegemonistic diktats of the imperialist centers. Everything indicates that this policy will prevail, regardless of the outcome of the US Presidential elections in November. The refusal of the old imperialist powers to accept the reality of a changed economic balance of forces resulting from the economic emergence of countries, in particular of the People’s Republic of China, is raising the risks of a new world war which, in the nuclear era, would represent a catastrophe for Humankind.

It is not a coincidence that, as in the 20th Century, the increasing threat of a global confrontation promoted by the old imperialist powers is accompanied by the increasing support for old and new forms of fascism by ruling circles of those powers, as can be seen in countries as diverse as the Ukraine, Brazil and Israel.

Capitalism’s systematic plunder is threatening the very survival of human beings on our planet. This crisis clearly reveals the need for Communist Parties that, in their day-to-day struggle, strive to do away with this parasitic, predatory and destructive system and to replace it with an alternative social and economic system, a socialist society with Communism on the horizon. It also makes it urgently necessary for our Parties to find the ways and means to ensure our convergence and joint action in these difficult and
challenging times.

Communist Party of Turkey

Dear Comrades,
We would like to send our warmest regards to the Communist Party of Britain on the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of the Party.

The working class movement has a strong tradition in Britain, as well as its trade unions. The communists in Britain have always been vanguards in this movement and have played important roles in all of the progressive steps in British history.

The year 2020 is also the centenary of the Communist Party of Turkey. This year is marked by the conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic, which is affecting the whole world. This pandemic has laid bare the basic characteristics of capitalism. Class contradictions have deepened even more in a short period of time; the working classes are now living in much more difficult conditions. This is more than evident in Britain, too; as thousands of workers have lost their jobs, and many of them have had to work under tough conditions as the pandemic was at
its peak.

Under these circumstances, it is of utmost importance for our parties to pursue an independent politics of class; as the bourgeoisie in all countries is tightening its grip on the working classes, and as the tendency towards authoritarianism is increasing.

The cooperation between the Communist Party of Britain and the Communist Party of Turkey has recently taken an important turn; it is getting stronger and at the same time it is intensifying.

We believe that this cooperation will serve the strengthening of the politics of class, as both our parties have witnessed that at the time of the pandemic, more workers have turned towards communist policies and respective parties.

We are confident that both our parties will be playing their historic roles towards achieving the ultimate aim of socialism and continue their solidarity.

Long live the struggle for socialism!
Long live the Communist Party of Britain!

Комуністична партія України

Communist Party of Ukraine

Dear comrades!

Please accept my personal and the Communist Party of Ukraine sincere and heartfelt congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Great Britain.

No doubt that the activities of the Communist Party of Great Britain, created on August 1, 1920 under the influence of the Great October Socialist Revolution, became a whole era in history for almost the entire 20th century and became the foundation of the communist movement in your country.

We, the Soviet Communists, gratefully recall that it was the Communist Party of Great Britain that played the leading role in the movement “Hands off Soviet Russia!” that was unfolding throughout the country.

We remember that it were the British Communists who proved themselves staunch fighters for the fundamental interests of the working class during the general strike of 1926, because of which the influence of the Communist Party in society increased significantly. The Communist Party of Great Britain during the period of the world economic crisis of 1929-1933 organized the grandiose class hunger campaigns of the unemployed and in 1934-1936 mass rallies and protests against attacks by local fascist organizations.

We, the Communists of Ukraine, admire the courage and staunchness of the British

Communists fighting in the International Brigades in Spain. We are grateful to the Communist Party of Great Britain for friendship with the USSR, for organizing a collective rebuff to fascist aggression, for creating a united anti-fascist front during the Second World War II.

We, the Communists of Ukraine, are convinced that the Communist Party of Britain consistently and principally upholds the position to protect the real interests of workers. The Communist Party of Britain makes every effort to fulfill its role as the revolutionary, ideological and political vanguard of the working class.

We are confident that the Communist Party of Britain basing its activities based on the Marxist-Leninist view of the world is to become even more persistent in the revolutionary struggle for democracy and socialism, in the struggle against various difficulties created by internal and external anti-people’s raw materials, enemies of the working people.

That is why our joint task: to rally the communist and workers parties in a single international movement in the struggle for the triumph of socialism – the most just and humane society. Today, the international communist and labor movement, the working people of all countries must organize and show their strength, giving a decisive rebuff to imperialism, anti-communism, neo-fascism, terrorism, while breaking the multifaceted traps that the bourgeoisie and imperialist unions like the EU and NATO set up.

We, the Communists of Ukraine, express our sincere comradely gratitude to the Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Britain, to you, comrade Robert Griffiths, to team of the Morning Star newspaper, to other comrades in the struggle, for your international solidarity and support for our Party.

We assure that we will continue to jointly make every effort to strengthen our international friendship and to uphold the unity and solidarity of the international communist and labour movement in the name of the struggle against capitalist barbarism, the exploitation of man by man, for the restoration of true democracy and socialism in our countries.

We wish all participants optimism, new achievements for the benefit of the working people of Great Britain!

Workers of all countries, unite!

Long live the 100 years of the struggle of the Communist Party of Britain!

With communist greetings,

First Secretary

Communist Party of Ukraine Petro Symonenko
